Admissions Policy
3e International Kindergarten holds a non-discriminatory policy and accepts applications for all qualified students, regardless of gender, race, color, national origin, class or economic status. However, in compliance with local Chinese government regulations, the school is only allowed to accept applications for children who hold a foreign passport or are residents of Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan.
Each entering student and his or her parent(s)/guardian(s)
will have a pre-enrollment conference with school staff in order
to determine academic, social and language levels. This enables
the school to better understand and meet the needs of each student.
Programs Offered
Currently, 3e offers nursery programs (18 months to 3 years), preschool programs (ages 3-5), and kindergarten (ages 5-6).Beginning in September 2008, an elementary program will be added, starting with Grade 1. To qualify for admittance, children must be age appropriate for a particular program by October 1.
Class Size and Student/Teacher Ratio
Nursery classes are held to 12 children, with a 4:1 child/adult ratio. Preschool and kindergarten classes are limited to 16 children and an 8:1 student-teacher ratio. No more than 16 children will be admitted to an elementary classroom.
Children with Special Educational Needs
At 3e, we engage children in learning in many ways. The bilingual requirements beginning in preschool provide challenge, both for children's broad capacity for learning and our teaching staff's creativity in structuring enjoyable, highly interactive learning experiences. Though we are able to accept children with mild to moderate learning difficulty, 3e would not be a suitable environment for children who have severe limitations that would interfere with their ability to participate in the classroom. Admission may be determined through discussion at the initial pre-conference meeting.
